Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (704) 284-9844. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, charlottecitytennis.com.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 47 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded tennis clubs in Charlotte.

Charlotte is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Charlotte is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

IF you can actually schedule at a convenient time and place - they are great. However, booked a package this summer based on assumption there would be classes held near me (Jeff Adams) per the posted schedule. There were no classes there - they kept canceling - and , per their policy, my classes and payment expired. Grrr 😑

I was in Charlotte for business and after two full days stuck inside for meetings, I had a real desire to get out and play some tennis. Problem was I had no racquet and no shoes. I called Charlotte City Tennis and head pro Aaron Mullennix took care of everything. He set me up with a demo racquet and even drove to a local tennis shop to pick up shoes for me so I could play. That kind of hospitality is rare. He went the extra mile without me even asking. Aaron paired me with one of his pros, Sophie Hirsch, and she was fantastic. A genuinely beautiful person inside and out, and a terrific coach. We played 10 point tie breakers and I had a great time. If you're local or just passing through like I was, book time at Charlotte City Tennis it's a great facility.

When I picked up a racquet and booked my first beginners clinic with this organization, I could not have imagined that I'd be playing with such an improved level of competency and confidence just six months later. Each instructor that I've spent time with has been a positive experience, particularly Ted Yu at Jeff Adams. His approach to teaching -- balancing "tough love" with thoughtful criticism and intentional technical instruction, while being able to keep his clinic atmospheres both serious and light -- has fueled my addiction to learning and improving every aspect of the game.

I love the flexibility of the classes at Charlotte City Tennis! Aaron Morrison and Thiago are the best! Their classes are really engaging and they provide really good feedback!

I attended the adult recreational clinic with Tyler at Freedom Park, and he did a fantastic job providing input and coaching as we went through different doubles games and rally scenarios. As someone without much experience practicing tennis in a structured setting, I found the clinic engaging, fun, and a great workout. The 1.5-hour session was well-paced, and at $35 (or less with a bundle), it’s an excellent value in my opinion. The group at my session was friendly and evenly matched in skill level, which made the experience enjoyable and not at all intimidating.
